THE HUNT FOR HUNT – SATURDAY 15 JUNE IN FARNHAM SURREY
4 COACHES WENT TO FARNHAM, JEREMY HUNT’S CONSTITUENCY, FROM LEWISHAM, NORTH AND WEST LONDON
On the day, around 150 campaigners from Lewisham, Hammersmith, Kingston, Ealing, Newham and beyond, joined by local Surrey residents and students, spent the day canvassing, leafletting and petitioning throughout the town of Farnham.
Feedback from local residents was overwhelming positive, with many expressing their concerns about the current dismantling of the NHS and over 1000 signing the official ‘Hunt for Hunt’ petition against the closure of local hospitals and the privatisation of the NHS.
The day ended with a lively, peaceful demonstration through Farnham town centre in the rain, followed by a short rally which included speakers from Unite and Ealing, as well as chair of the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign Dr Louise Irvine.
All in all, a very successful event!

You do realise that Hunt does not live in Farnham but in Hammersmith.
Hi Barry,
We are indeed aware!
We have chosen Hunt’s constituency to highlight the hypocrisy of his actions regarding the NHS. Only a few years ago he was talking to local Farnham residents about the importance of local hospitals, and now he is responsible for a spate of closures of vital local hospital services, not to mention his attempt to privatise the NHS through the back door.
A local MP is always answerable to his/her constituents, regardless of where they live so our plan is to join forces with local residents to send a strong message that his attempts to dismantle the NHS will not go unchallenged.
We still have a few coach seats left so if you are available on the day, I hope to see you there! You can email huntforhunt2013@gmail.com for more information.

What a fantastic event. I thoroughly support the good people of Lewisham. I was born in Lewisham hospital and find it unthinkable that the area could be left without adequate A&E provision. I now live near Farnham and will try and attend in person. This is exactly the sort of event needed to make the Department of Health listen. Good luck!
