In the last few years Keep Our NHS Public groups including the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign and KONP members across South East London have been working together. We call our umbrella group SELSON – South East London Save Our NHS.
The six boroughs are:
Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Greenwich, Bromley, Bexley
Since the abolition of Lewisham CCG and the formation of the SE London CCG and the SE London ICS, many health issues now facing Lewisham patients are no longer addressed at Borough level but at SE London level.
Particularly during the time of Covid-19 it has been difficult to gain a democratic hearing. This is why it is important for the 6 areas of SE London to meet and work together.
1. The campaign against the pathology contract
One of the main areas of campaigning in the last two years is the massive £2.2bn pathology contract involving a private company.
